Small Backgarden - Brighton
Located in a central in Brighton, the space typifies many small gardens in cities around the UK. At around 6.5 x 6m with a small area of shaded space between the houses.
The client who is completing a self build, as was keen to retain some grassed area, whilst providing a small patio to catch the evening sun. The flat site was marked by the height of the back door, at 600mm up from the garden.
This provided a focus for the design, which provides a walkway from the back door which connects the three garden spaces, linking whilst providing seperation through raised beds.

A simple planting scheme with structural grasses, interspersed with bulbs and perrenials provides year round interest, minimal maintenance and height to the borders.
Currently the client is finishing some internal works and will be completing the work early next summer as a self build project.
